Fantastic netbook, best laptop I've had
I've had a complete nightmare re-installing windows on another laptop. Through all the hassle that caused me my baby HP Mini 210 has been a rock. It's allowed me to

research the faults I've had with the other laptop
make posts about them
make bootable USB install media from an iso using a virtual drive
write cds and dvds with an external...

HP had an opportunity to turn this product series into the VW beetle of netbooks - or a practical raspberry pi of sorts. But they blew it... This could be a dream tool for modular modification (i.e. 3g add-ons, drives, memory etc). Apparently 3g is completely out of the question as you need the aerial, a sim card reader and the pcie card - none of which can be installed...
Great idea, but Hp lets down in quality...

Review Lenovo IdeaPad S205 11.6 inch Netbook - Black (AMD E450, RAM 4GB, HDD 500GB, WLAN, BT, Webcam, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit)

One Vision
I purchased the S205 recently as I wanted an ultra mobile laptop with reasonable performance that I could take on the road with me without being overly restricted by size or battery life constraints.
Basically the S205 is a netbook and a beautiful one at that, and with a computing platform this small you've got to be realistic about the performance you expect from...

Nice little machine, although some connection problems
All in all this is a nice little machine. It runs well, boots in about 60 seconds (faster than most netbooks I've seen/used in the past), and is a nice size for working on. It has plenty of ports on the side including 3 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI + DVI out, and an Ethernet port. (Has mic and headphone port but I can't comment because I haven't used either). It's keyboard is a...

Review Asus Eee PC 1025CE 10.1 inch Netbook - Purple (Intel Atom N2800 1.86GHz, 1GB RAM, 320GB HDD, LAN, WLAN, Webcam, BT, Windows 7 Starter)

A fine alternative to the ipad plague.
I've been waiting for one of these for 8 months.

Finally got my hands on one and am very impressed so far.

Previous review is WRONG.

I've added a 4 gb Dimm. Windows 7 starter will only use 2gb of that though but just in case I upgrade to a full version of Windows it's in. Not easy to swap but memory is NOT soldered to system board. The...

3.0 out of 5 stars Re: J. Wilson's review
I am still very confused about this RAM upgrade question.
This morning I spoke with ASUS support (a guy called Grant) and he was adamant that the RAM was fixed to the motherboard and could not be upgraded but said the 1025CE could be ordered either as a 1GB or 2GB variant.
So this conflicts completely with what you have found yourself. I dont want to be saddled...

Review Acer Aspire One 722 11.6 inch Netbook - Black (AMD Dual-Core C-60 1GHz, RAM 2GB, HDD 320GB, LAN, WLAN, Webcam, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit)

A very nice little machine
This is a seriously nice little machine for light use. It is perfect for surfing the web and writing documents with something like OpenOffice. Installing Chrome will also improve the experience over Internet Explorer. The modern processor and 2GB of RAM really make a difference over lower specced netbooks, though of course a fully fledged notebook or laptop would have...

After quite a lot of research, looking for a Netbook for use by my constantly travelling daughter, this Aspire 722 appeared to fit the bill. According to the Manufacturers description it is good for viewing YouTube,iPlayer etc.etc. and with an HDMI out for HD (should one ever want to watch HD on an external screen)and of course, wifi and portable with fair battery...
